Linoleum Blockprints by Leni Fried

This Linoleum block print was done on the island of Culebra, a small undeveloped place off of Puerto Rico . This was the view from the guest house where we stayed, Culebra Island Villas which was walking distance from the main town of Dewey. We stayed there through Xmas and witnessed a local island tradition. At thee in the morning we woke with a jolt to the sounds of music blaring from a pair of loudspeakers in the back of a pickup. The truck was crowded with people standing in their best clothes singing xmas songs in Spanish!
