This linoleum blockprint was inspired by a visit to Carriacou. This is a very small island off of Grenada in the British west Indies. Carriacou with a population of just 6000 is only 13 sq. miles. Our home away from home was a modest guest house called Bayaleau Point Cottages. It was the perfect spot to shed our fast paced North American lifestyle. For contrast, I like to go somewhere with no telephone, no fax machine, no computers, and no cars. Carriacou was perfect and unspoiled. I couldn’t get enough of the shimmering blues and turquoise colors of the water mixing with the sand color below.
