Linoleum Blockprints by Leni Fried

This linoleum blockprint was inspired by a visit to San Juan, Puerto Rico. We spent just two nights there and lived in luxury with a room at The Hotel El Convento right in old San Juan. The view out the window was breathtaking as most of the buildings are painted in brilliant fushias, oranges and yellows. These large areas of glowing, flat color were imprinted in my mind until I tried to capture them on paper once I got back to Massachusetts. If you are in San Juan be sure and eat at El Picoteo. This is an excellent Tapas Bar at the Hotel El Convento and is well worth the trip!
